Lizzie Bell is one of just 700 people in the world with a rare blood disease called Diamond Blackfan Anemia. As a result, she must have a blood transfusion every couple of weeks.
She was featured on the television show ABC's "Extreme Makeover" because of her amazing spirit, courage and her success at raising awareness and donations for the American Red Cross. She even received the "Hero" Award for Ambassadorship on behalf of the American Red Cross for her amazing efforts!
The Emily West Design Team saw Lizzie on "Extreme Makeover" and was inspired by her story. Not only does Lizzie love to help others but her other true passion is for fashion!
Lizzie has recently been working on sketches and designs for Emily West. Check out the transformation of some of her sketches into fashion realities.

Don't forget to mark your calendars! Annually, June 14th is World Donor Day and blood drives will be in neighborhoods and shopping centers all over the world. It is also the official "Lizzie Bell Blood and Marrow Drive". This year Lizzie will be hosting her first "Telethon" to collect 1 million bags of blood.
Style 1 – The top from Lizzie's sketch A was used as inspiration for the final style. The skirt from sketch B was used for the dress bottom. Her color recommendation of black and white makes this style a true classic!
Style 2 – Lizzie wanted a fun, sparkling fabrication for this beautiful purple design. It also includes Lizzie's recommendation of seams down the front of the dress.
Style 3 – Lizzie suggested a criss-cross top with a simple bottom from sketch C. Note the feminine details and use of her recommended sash from sketch D.
Style 4 – A colorful sash in one of Lizzie's favorite colors – teal - makes this style exciting and perfect for any party. The style also includes her recommendation of a bow in back for a dramatic effect.
